SAP’s Innovation News Guide for 2026, unveiled at SAP TechEd, outlines how the company’s Autonomous Enterprise vision is materializing through tools like Joule Work and the SAP Business AI Platform. These solutions enable users to articulate goals, with AI orchestrating agents, applications, and data across SAP and non-SAP systems to execute tasks. The platform emphasizes enterprise governance, semantically rich data, and purpose-built models to transition AI from pilot projects to large-scale deployments. Early adoption feedback has refined the offerings, which are now entering phased general availability.

Joule Work and Joule Studio, announced at SAP Sapphire 2026, are now generally available in stages, with new capabilities enhancing their functionality. Joule Work allows users to describe objectives via a UI, while Joule Studio supports building, extending, and operating enterprise agentic solutions. Joule Studio’s integration with Joule Work and partnerships like n8n simplifies agent development, while enhancements provide business context for translating intent into solutions using tools like SAP LeanIX and SAP Signavio.

The SAP Enterprise AI Gateway, part of the SAP Business AI Platform, introduces a centralized control plane for governing AI interactions, including authentication, policy enforcement, and auditing. Built on SAP Integration Suite, it consolidates AI traffic management across the enterprise, supporting identity-based authentication, policy-driven authorization, and real-time monitoring to mitigate risks and optimize spending. New capabilities in SAP Integration Suite further streamline complex landscapes for agentic AI readiness.

SAP’s latest innovations include lakehouse capabilities supporting Apache Iceberg and a distributed SQL query engine, powered by Dremio, to unify data access for AI and analytics. These features integrate with Joule Work for natural language engagement and extend the business data fabric architecture for hybrid and multi-cloud environments. General availability for lakehouse and SAP Reltio data product capabilities is planned for Q1 2027, reinforcing SAP’s open data ecosystem strategy.
