Innovation News Guide: Advancing the Autonomous Enterprise
SAP unveils AI-driven tools at SAP Connect 2026 to advance its Autonomous Enterprise vision, including Joule assistants, SAP Pay, and new EPM and GRC solutions, with general availability rolling out from Q4 2026.
At SAP Connect 2026, SAP introduced innovations to advance its Autonomous Enterprise vision, including Joule, the SAP Autonomous Suite, and the SAP Business AI Platform. These tools enable AI assistants and agents to work alongside employees across finance, supply chain, and customer experience domains. The SAP Autonomous Suite now includes expanded Joule Assistants and Agents, delivered via the SAP for Me portal, with early customer feedback shaping refinements ahead of general availability starting in October. The portfolio will continue to expand with additional capabilities in the coming months.
SAP Pay, a new payment service embedded in SAP Cloud ERP workflows, is now generally available in the United States and United Kingdom. Powered by Tereina, a wholly owned SAP subsidiary founded in April 2026, the service automates payment execution and reconciliation when invoices are approved. It supports EFT, wire, check, and stablecoin-based cross-border transactions, reducing manual bank file handling and reconciliation delays within the ERP environment.
The new SAP Enterprise Financial Consolidation solution advances autonomous enterprise performance management by providing finance teams with continuous performance insights. Built on SAP Business Data Cloud, it integrates statutory and management consolidation with close and disclosure capabilities, enabling faster decision-making and more efficient reconciliation. Early adopter care is planned for Q1 2027, with migration tooling available for existing SAP EPM customers.
SAP is expanding its Autonomous Finance domain with new Joule Assistants and specialized agents for financial close, planning, treasury, billing, tax, and receivables management. New Joule Assistants for governance, risk, and compliance will also launch, including the Access Governance and Security Assistant in Q1 2027 and the Governance Assistant and International Trade Assistant in Q4 2026. A partnership with Moody’s embeds real-time supplier risk monitoring into SAP Ariba Supplier Lifecycle and Performance to support proactive procurement decisions.
