Live Performances and Longform Video DJ Sets From Portola Festival Just Dropped on Spotify
Spotify now hosts longform video DJ sets and live performances from San Francisco’s Portola Music Festival, offering fans a second chance to experience the event.
San Francisco’s Pier 80 hosted this year’s Portola Music Festival, drawing crowds for live electronic and dance music. The event featured genre-spanning lineups, including artists like Skrillex, Jamie xx, Charli xcx, and Nelly Furtado. Performances by Robyn marked a notable comeback, while Tiësto and Marlon Hoffstadt headlined the festival. The festival’s diverse programming has become a hallmark of its appeal to a broad audience.
Spotify has partnered with Portola since 2022 to enhance the festival experience, previously offering official playlists and on-site art exhibits. This year, the company expanded its role as the official music and video partner by introducing longform video DJ sets on its platform. The new video hub includes select sets and performances from artists such as Chloé Caillet, Beltron b2b Ben Sterling, Groove Armada, Max Styler, Four Tet, Zara Larsson, Brunello, and Fcukers.
The addition of longform video DJ sets allows fans to relive performances or discover sets they missed. The video hub provides a new way to engage with the festival’s music, complementing Spotify’s existing offerings. Sets from Marlon Hoffstadt and VTSS are set to be added soon, expanding the available content. Fans can also stream the official Portola Party People playlist for additional festival highlights.
This initiative marks the first time Portola performances are available as longform video DJ sets on Spotify. The move underscores Spotify’s commitment to preserving and extending the reach of live music experiences. By hosting these videos, the platform offers a new dimension to festival content, blending audio and visual elements for listeners.
