Sui processed 40,614,180 transactions per second during a live demonstration at Sui Basecamp in Singapore, exceeding its own 20 million target and the July record of over 6 million. The test was conducted on the Summit Stage and aimed to showcase the network's capacity under extreme demands from AI agents and machine commerce. Participants opened more than 10,000 tunnels across applications like chat, games, and payments, all operating gaslessly and offchain before settling to Sui mainnet.

The throughput was achieved using Sui tunnels, which function similarly to Lightning Network channels but are programmable for broader use cases beyond payments. Each tunnel is mutually cosigned and independently verifiable onchain, ensuring tamper-proof transactions. The test was led by Adeniyi Abiodun, Chief Product Officer and Co-Founder at Mysten Labs, with independent auditor CertiK reviewing all data and plans to publish a report.

CertiK emphasized the importance of transparent, independently verifiable performance measurements for building trust in blockchain infrastructure supporting next-generation applications. The Basecamp result represents more than a sixfold increase over the July 4 record, both measured inside Sui tunnels. Abiodun described Sui as a trust layer for agentic economies, where tunnels enable privacy, speed, and verifiability without onchain gas fees for intermediate transactions.

The event took place at Marina Bay Sands during Sui Basecamp, with a live audience and online viewers participating in a contest to guess the TPS milestone. Abiodun highlighted that Sui is designed for scenarios where millions of AI agents transact daily, noting that human transaction volumes do not require such capacity. The demonstration underscored Sui's role in enabling scalable, verifiable transactions for AI-driven commerce.
