Minister Sarah Owen highlighted Northern Ireland’s innovation and export potential during visits to Queen’s University Belfast’s AMIC and Catagen, underscoring collaboration between businesses, academia, and government.
Minister for Northern Ireland Sarah Owen officially opened Queen’s University Belfast’s Advanced Manufacturing Innovation Centre (AMIC), marking a step toward advancing research and industrial collaboration in advanced manufacturing. The centre aims to bridge academic innovation with practical industry applications, supporting local businesses and supply chains.
During her visit, Owen also attended the UK Export Finance Northern Ireland Business Forum, where she engaged with businesses focused on expanding export opportunities and securing international trade partnerships. The forum emphasized the role of government-backed finance in enabling Northern Irish firms to compete globally.
At Belfast clean technology company Catagen, the Minister met with staff and partners working to develop sustainable solutions in emissions reduction and clean energy. The company’s work aligns with broader efforts to position Northern Ireland as a leader in green technology.
