Disney Legends in Conversation: Chris Berman

The Walt Disney Company will induct 13 new Disney Legends at the annual ceremony concluding D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, an event hosted by Ryan Seacrest that celebrates creative storytelling and innovation. Among this year’s honorees is Chris Berman, recognized in the Television category for his decades-long contributions to ESPN and sports broadcasting. The ceremony highlights the impact of these individuals on Disney’s legacy across generations.

In an exclusive interview, Berman reflected on receiving the Disney Legend honor, crediting ESPN colleagues for the network’s early success and calling the recognition overwhelming. He described the early days of ESPN as a high-pressure environment where young broadcasters worked tirelessly to establish the network as a nightly sports news leader.
