Amazon EC2 G7 instances are now available in the AWS Europe (Spain) Region
AWS has launched Amazon EC2 G7 instances in the Europe (Spain) Region, featuring NVIDIA RTX PRO 4500 Blackwell GPUs for enhanced AI inference and graphics workloads.
The useful question is what changes for users, developers or buyers, and whether the announcement stays industry context or becomes something people can actually use.
Amazon EC2 G7 instances, now available in the Europe (Spain) Region, are powered by NVIDIA RTX PRO 4500 Blackwell Server Edition GPUs. These instances deliver up to 4.6 times higher AI inference performance and 2.1 times faster graphics performance compared to G6 instances. The upgrade supports workloads such as language translation, video and image analysis, and real-time graphics rendering. Customers can deploy the instances in the Europe (Spain) Region alongside existing availability in US East and US West regions.
The new instances feature up to eight GPUs, each with 32 GB of memory, and are paired with custom Intel Xeon 6 processors. They offer up to 192 virtual CPUs, 700 Gbps of networking bandwidth via Elastic Fabric Adapter, and 768 GiB of system memory. Local NVMe SSD storage capacity reaches up to 7.6 TB, providing substantial resources for demanding workloads. The instances are accessible as On-Demand, Spot, or through Savings Plans, offering flexible pricing options.
G7 instances are designed to accelerate GPU-accelerated data analytics, including recommender systems and Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) inference. They also support video transcoding, spatial computing, and real-time data pipelines. The hardware configuration enables efficient processing of large-scale AI models and graphics-intensive applications. AWS emphasizes the instances' suitability for industries requiring high-performance computing and real-time data processing.
Customers can begin using G7 instances immediately in the Europe (Spain) Region by accessing the AWS Management Console, AWS CLI, or AWS SDKs. Additional details are available on the G7 instance page. The expansion follows the initial launch in select US regions, broadening global access to high-performance computing resources for AI and graphics workloads.
