Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced the availability of Amazon EC2 G7 instances in the US East (N. Virginia) Region, powered by NVIDIA RTX PRO 4500 Blackwell Server Edition GPUs. These instances deliver up to 4.6 times faster AI inference performance and 2.1 times better graphics performance compared to the previous G6 instances. The upgrade targets workloads such as language translation, video and image analysis, and speech recognition, while also accelerating graphics rendering and real-time game streaming tasks. The new instances are designed to handle GPU-accelerated data analytics, including recommender systems and Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) inference, as well as video transcoding and spatial computing workloads.

G7 instances are equipped with up to eight NVIDIA RTX PRO 4500 Blackwell GPUs, each providing 32 GB of memory, and are paired with custom Intel Xeon 6 processors. They support configurations of up to 192 virtual CPUs (vCPUs), 700 Gbps of Elastic Fabric Adapter networking bandwidth, 768 GiB of system memory, and 7.6 TB of local NVMe SSD storage. These specifications enable customers to run demanding workloads with improved efficiency and reduced latency. The instances are now available in three AWS Regions: US East (N. Virginia and Ohio) and US West (Oregon).

Customers can deploy G7 instances through multiple purchasing options, including On-Demand Instances, Spot Instances, or Savings Plans, providing flexibility in cost management. The instances are accessible via the AWS Management Console, AWS Command Line Interface (CLI), and AWS SDKs, simplifying the deployment process for developers and enterprises. AWS has positioned these instances as a solution for organizations requiring high-performance computing for AI, graphics, and data analytics workloads.

The introduction of G7 instances follows AWS’s strategy to expand its GPU-accelerated compute offerings, complementing existing instance families like G6. By leveraging the latest NVIDIA Blackwell architecture, AWS aims to meet the growing demand for advanced AI and graphics processing in cloud environments. Organizations can now access these instances to enhance their applications in areas such as real-time rendering, AI model deployment, and large-scale data processing.
