The British Consulate General in Istanbul invites young people in Türkiye to compete for a day shadowing the Consul General in 2027, sharing their vision for global change.
The British Consulate General in Istanbul has launched a competition open to young people aged 18 to 24 residing in Türkiye. Applicants are asked to submit their vision for a single change they would like to see in the world by 2027. Entries can be submitted via email, with video submissions required to be uploaded to YouTube in an unlisted format. The competition aims to engage young voices in shaping future priorities.
The winner will shadow the British Consul General in Istanbul for a full day, participating in scheduled events and meetings. This hands-on experience offers insight into the daily operations of the consulate. The programme is designed to provide practical exposure to diplomatic and consular work. Participants must be available to attend in person in Istanbul.
Applicants must consent to being photographed or filmed during the programme and related public engagements. The British Consulate General reserves the right to publish these materials on official social media channels, including Instagram. All content will be used in line with ethical guidelines to avoid compromising the winner’s dignity or reputation.
The winner is responsible for all costs associated with attending the programme, including travel, local transport, and accommodation. The British Consulate General Istanbul will not provide reimbursement for any expenses incurred. Applications must be submitted by the specified deadline to be considered.
