Flat Rate CDN is now GA for Pro teams
Vercel’s Flat Rate CDN is now generally available for Pro teams, replacing usage-based billing with a fixed monthly fee and team-level capacity.
Vercel has announced the general availability of Flat Rate CDN for Pro teams, introducing a fixed monthly billing model as an alternative to usage-based pricing. The capacity is allocated at the team level rather than per project, allowing traffic spikes on individual projects to draw from the shared allowance without additional costs. Spike protection is enabled by default, ensuring performance remains unaffected even when traffic exceeds the tier’s capacity, provided fair use guidelines are followed.
Each Pro team receives 1 million requests and 1 terabyte of data transfer included monthly under Flat Rate CDN. Teams needing additional capacity can upgrade to higher tiers, which provide more requests and data transfer at a fixed rate. The feature is automatically enabled for new Pro teams, while existing teams can opt in through their Billing settings.
The announcement highlights that Flat Rate CDN simplifies budgeting by eliminating unpredictable charges tied to usage spikes. Performance remains consistent regardless of traffic volume, as long as it stays within fair use guidelines. Teams can monitor and manage their capacity directly in the Billing section of the Vercel dashboard.
