Jev is the fastest-adopted model in AI Gateway history
Jev, a new probabilistic decision model from TypeSafe AI, became the fastest-adopted model in AI Gateway history within 24 hours of its launch, surpassing all prior models in adoption speed.
Jev achieved more than twice the paid-team adoption of any previous model launch within its first day on AI Gateway, surpassing every comparison model in the first twelve hours. By the 24-hour mark, it was used by nearly 13% of paid teams, a figure more than double that of the GPT-5.6 family and over six times higher than Fable 5.1. The rapid uptake highlights the demand for specialized models in production environments.
Introduced on September 15, Jev is a probabilistic decision model designed for structured decision-making within software. It processes context and questions in parallel, returning typed choices, scores, or true-or-false answers with associated probabilities. Unlike general-purpose language models, Jev’s outputs are formatted for direct use by code, enabling seamless integration into applications.
TypeSafe AI reports that in its own workflow evaluations, Jev demonstrated performance up to 194 times faster and 445 times cheaper than language models. The model’s efficiency stems from its specialized architecture, which avoids the overhead of generating free-form text responses.
Developers can access Jev through AI Gateway, where it is available for immediate use. The model’s adoption data is included in the September AI Gateway Production Index, providing further insights into its performance and usage trends.
