AGCO REPORTS SECOND-QUARTER RESULTS
AGCO reported a 1% decline in Q2 2026 net sales to $2.6 billion, with adjusted earnings per share rising to $1.43. The company cited cautious farmer spending amid economic uncertainty and adjusted its full-year outlook downward.
The useful question is what changes for users, developers or buyers, and whether the announcement stays industry context or becomes something people can actually use.
AGCO’s second-quarter net sales totaled $2.6 billion, a 1.0% decrease from Q2 2025, with reported net income at $1.08 per share and adjusted net income at $1.43 per share. Excluding a 2.7% favorable currency impact, net sales fell 3.7%. CEO Eric Hansotia attributed the decline to farmers delaying equipment purchases due to rising input costs and demand uncertainty. The company is adjusting production to match retail demand, managing dealer inventory, and maintaining cost discipline while advancing precision agriculture initiatives.
For the first six months of 2026, AGCO’s net sales reached $5.0 billion, up 5.7% year-over-year. Reported net income was $1.84 per share, and adjusted net income was $2.37 per share, compared to $4.36 and $1.76 per share in the same period of 2025. Excluding a 5.2% favorable currency effect, net sales rose 0.5%. Hansotia noted that global trade, geopolitical factors, and energy costs continue to influence farmer confidence, with technology adoption driving demand for precision agriculture and automation solutions.
North American tractor sales fell 9% in the first half of 2026, with higher-horsepower categories declining the most. Combine unit sales dropped 7% year-over-year. In Brazil, tractor sales fell 11%, reflecting weaker demand for larger equipment due to high production costs and financing constraints. Western Europe saw a 3% increase in tractor sales, led by growth in the UK and Scandinavia, supported by stable farm income and an aging equipment fleet.
AGCO revised its 2026 net sales outlook to $10.1–$10.2 billion, with adjusted operating margins projected at 7.5%. Earnings per share are targeted between $5.50 and $5.75. The company plans to align production with market demand, control costs, and maintain pricing discipline. AGCO will discuss these results in a conference call on July 30, 2026, with details available on its investor website.
