Amazon Connect Customer now lets managers chat with their data
AWS announced Amazon Connect Customer, enabling managers to query contact-center data in plain language and receive instant insights, evidence, and recommended actions across 150 metrics.
Amazon Connect Customer now allows managers to ask questions about their contact-center performance in plain language and receive answers, supporting evidence, and suggested fixes within seconds. Previously, managers had access to data but lacked the time to analyze dashboards and identify performance drivers. The tool automates this process by searching across more than 150 metrics related to self-service, agent efficiency, and queue performance to pinpoint issues and recommend next steps. This aims to reduce the manual effort required to interpret complex datasets.
Managers can conduct iterative conversations with the tool, starting with broad inquiries and drilling down into specifics within the same session. For example, a manager could ask which queues would benefit most from automation, and the system would evaluate metrics like handle time and after-contact work, then return a prioritized list with confidence scores and projected impact. This replaces weeks of analyst-driven investigation with an immediate, actionable plan. The feature is designed to streamline decision-making for operational improvements.
The capability is available in all AWS Regions where Amazon Connect Customer AI Agents are supported, expanding access to managers regardless of location. This ensures consistency in performance analysis and action planning across global contact-center operations. The rollout aligns with AWS’s broader effort to integrate generative AI tools into enterprise workflows, particularly in customer service and contact-center management.
To implement this feature, managers do not need specialized technical skills, as the tool processes natural-language queries and delivers structured insights. AWS provides documentation to guide users on leveraging the feature for their specific contact-center needs. The announcement underscores AWS’s focus on reducing operational friction by automating data analysis and enabling faster, evidence-based decision-making in customer service environments.
