Amazon Connect Customer now allows agents to change the customer profile linked to an open case, ensuring case histories remain accurate when the wrong profile was initially attached. This feature addresses situations where a case was incorrectly associated with the wrong customer during creation. Agents can update the profile without needing to close and reopen the case, maintaining continuity in case management. The change supports compliance and customer service consistency by keeping records correctly aligned.

Agents can also add a customer profile to a case after it has been opened, which is particularly useful when the caller’s identity is not immediately known. This scenario commonly occurs with shared phone numbers or when identity verification is required before associating a profile. The update eliminates the need to create a new case once the customer is identified, streamlining the resolution process. It reduces administrative overhead and improves the efficiency of customer service workflows.

The new capability is part of Amazon Connect Cases, a feature within AWS’s contact center solution. It is now available in ten AWS regions, including US East (N. Virginia), US West (Oregon), and Europe (Frankfurt). The expansion covers additional regions such as Asia Pacific (Seoul), Asia Pacific (Singapore), and Africa (Cape Town), broadening accessibility for global customers. Organizations using Amazon Connect can implement this feature immediately to enhance their case management processes.

To adopt the updated functionality, users can visit the Amazon Connect Cases webpage and review the documentation for implementation guidance. AWS provides resources to help customers integrate the new profile update and addition features into their existing workflows. The documentation includes step-by-step instructions and best practices for leveraging the enhanced capabilities. Customers are encouraged to explore the updated features to improve operational efficiency and customer service accuracy.
