Amazon ElastiCache for Valkey has introduced ElastiCache Insights, a pre-built dashboard within Amazon CloudWatch designed to consolidate key performance metrics for node-based clusters. The dashboard aggregates data such as cluster health, memory usage, compute resources, network activity, command throughput, latency, keyspace, and errors into a unified interface. Metrics are automatically sourced from OpenTelemetry, eliminating the need for manual configuration. Users can quickly assess cache workload health across an entire Region or drill down into specific clusters, shards, nodes, or Availability Zones for detailed analysis.

ElastiCache Insights enables proactive monitoring by alerting users when a node approaches critical limits for memory, network bandwidth, or active connections. The dashboard allows filtering views to focus on specific components, and users can save the default layout as a template for custom dashboards tailored to unique workload requirements. Detailed monitoring supports metric updates every 15 seconds, providing granular visibility into performance trends and anomalies.

To access ElastiCache Insights, users can navigate to the Metrics tab for a cluster in the Amazon ElastiCache console or select ElastiCache Insights under Infrastructure Monitoring in the Amazon CloudWatch console. The feature is designed to simplify troubleshooting by centralizing metrics that were previously scattered across multiple sources. CloudWatch pricing for OpenTelemetry metrics applies to detailed monitoring, ensuring transparency in cost structure.

ElastiCache Insights is available for node-based Valkey clusters in all AWS Regions where Amazon CloudWatch supports OpenTelemetry metrics. Additional guidance is provided in the Amazon ElastiCache User Guide under the section titled Monitoring ElastiCache with OpenTelemetry metrics. The feature aims to reduce operational overhead by consolidating monitoring tasks into a single, accessible dashboard.
