A decade later, WILDLABS has grown into the world’s largest conservation technology community, uniting over 16,000 members from more than 180 countries to collaborate on practical solutions for wildlife protection and habitat restoration.

Arm’s partnership with WILDLABS reflects its commitment to collaborative, long-term projects that combine technical expertise with social impact, operating outside traditional donor-grantee models. The collaboration has expanded to include skills development, community infrastructure, and direct employee involvement in conservation initiatives. For example, the Women in Conservation Technology program, supported by Arm and delivered with partners like Fauna & Flora, has enabled East African women to build technical skills and launch technology-driven conservation projects, strengthening local innovation networks.

Conservation technologies such as AI, remote sensing, and acoustic monitoring require reliable, power-efficient computing to function in remote and harsh environments. Arm emphasizes scalable, low-power solutions to ensure these tools remain operational off-grid and over extended periods. This approach aligns with Arm’s broader sustainability strategy, which prioritizes climate and nature alongside education and health, recognizing technology’s role in real-time data collection and ecosystem protection.

A key outcome of the partnership is the WILDLABS Conservation Technology Inventory, a community-driven resource helping practitioners identify existing tools and avoid redundant development. The initiative also includes the WILDLABS Boring Fund, which supports essential infrastructure maintenance, and the newly announced WILDLABS Awards 2026, offering $360,000 in funding for 16 projects. Both organizations emphasize scaling collaboration across the technology and conservation sectors to address complex challenges through shared expertise and resources.
