Arm Neural Technology gaining momentum across the mobile gaming ecosystem
Arm is advancing neural graphics technologies for mobile gaming, including Neural Super Sampling and Neural Frame Rate Upscaling, to improve visuals and performance without increasing power consumption.

Mobile gamers increasingly demand higher-quality graphics and smoother gameplay without sacrificing battery life or thermal performance. Arm has developed neural graphics technologies such as Neural Super Sampling (NSS), Neural Frame Rate Upscaling (NFRU), and Neural Super Sampling and Denoising (NSSD) to address these demands. The company is also preparing its next-generation Arm Mali GPU, which includes dedicated neural acceleration. Arm’s strategy focuses on collaboration across the gaming ecosystem to integrate these technologies into real-world production environments and workflows.
To validate these technologies, Arm has partnered with leading game studios like Infold Games and Sumo Digital. One example is Neural Dawn, a co-developed project with Sumo Digital that demonstrates desktop-quality graphics techniques, including advanced lighting and ray-traced effects, running within mobile power constraints. The fully playable game serves as a practical reference for studios, OEMs, and silicon partners to evaluate neural graphics on Arm-based platforms.
Arm is working with major game engines, including Unreal Engine and Tuanjie Engine from Unity China, to integrate neural graphics capabilities. A recent milestone includes a memorandum of understanding with Unity China to bring Arm Neural Technology into the Tuanjie Engine. Arm also supports Unreal Engine and custom engines through the open-source Neural Graphics SDK for Game Engines, which provides a Vulkan-based integration path for technologies like NSS and NFRU, along with tools for model conversion and debugging.
The Arm Neural Graphics Development Kit provides developers with the tools, SDKs, and resources needed to evaluate and integrate neural graphics into existing pipelines. The kit now includes NFRU, enabling games to render fewer frames at lower resolution while reconstructing higher-resolution images and generating intermediate frames for smoother gameplay. This reduces rendering costs and accelerates adoption of neural graphics in shipping games, supporting Arm-based mobile platforms and reinforcing the value of AI-powered gaming experiences.
