ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) has introduced the ROG XBOX Ally X20, a handheld gaming device now available for purchase. The device features a translucent black chassis with a gold-accented internal structure, a 7.4-inch OLED Nebula HDR Display, and the AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processor. Designed for portability and performance, it includes software enhancements to improve user experience across gaming sessions.
The ROG XBOX Ally X20 is offered as a standalone unit priced at US$1,299 or bundled with the ROG XREAL R1 Edition 20 Gaming AR Glasses, a custom dbrand Killswitch case, and a Pelican Protector Case for US$2,499. The standalone device joins the existing ROG XBOX Ally lineup, which includes models priced at US$599 and US$999, providing players with multiple options for handheld gaming.
The device incorporates several hardware improvements, including a redesigned cooling system with three airflow paths, redesigned fans for 20% better airflow, and 11% larger heatsink fins. It also supports variable refresh rate (VRR) technology to reduce screen tearing and features magnetic TMR sensors in the joysticks to minimize stick drift. The transforming D-pad and flush-mounted face buttons enhance precision and comfort during gameplay.
The ROG XBOX Ally X20 includes Armoury Crate Special Edition software with new features such as UI scaling refinements, Aura Sync upgrades with Reactive and Immersion modes, and two HDR display modes. The software also introduces Default Game Profile 2.0 for saving performance settings and customizable hotkeys, along with an all-new Travel Mode that limits charging power to 65W for compatibility with travel power outlets.
