Marco Wittmann finished fourth in the second race after starting third on the grid, while Kelvin van der Linde placed seventh in both races following a strong comeback drive on Saturday. Wittmann’s race was impacted by a tyre failure on Saturday and limited pace on Sunday despite fresher tyres.
BMW M Motorsport acknowledged the weekend as disappointing, noting limited opportunities for points. Team Principal Torsten Schubert expressed satisfaction with crowd support but admitted the team fell short of a podium finish. Wittmann highlighted physical challenges and bad luck with a tyre failure, while van der Linde praised the team’s efforts despite modest results.
In the ADAC GT4 Germany, Gabriele Piana and Benjamin Sylvestersson secured a double podium for FK Performance Motorsport, moving them to the top of the drivers’ championship. BMW M Motorsport’s Björn Lellmann commended the team’s performance but emphasized the need for improvement in future races.
Wittmann and van der Linde reflected on the challenges of racing at Oschersleben, a circuit known for difficult overtaking. Wittmann noted the maximum achievable result was fourth place, while van der Linde expressed optimism ahead of the Nürburgring event, hoping for a stronger performance.
