BMW Group Plant Debrecen has manufactured its 50,000th BMW iX3, achieving the fastest ramp-up of any new BMW Group facility. The milestone was reached just months after series production began, demonstrating the plant’s ability to scale output rapidly. Raymond Wittmann, BMW AG Board Member for Production, attributed the achievement to coordinated team efforts and an early second-shift introduction in February 2026 to meet high demand.
The BMW iX3 is the first series-production model of the Neue Klasse, a new vehicle architecture being rolled out across BMW’s global production network. Plant Debrecen’s performance provides critical data and process insights for future launches of Neue Klasse models. BMW Group plans to launch 40 new or updated models by the end of 2027, incorporating technologies from the Neue Klasse.
