Supervisory Board appoints Dorothea von Boxberg to the Board of Management of BMW AG
BMW AG’s Supervisory Board appointed Dorothea von Boxberg to its Board of Management as Labour Relations Director, effective 1 September, succeeding Ilka Horstmeier.

The Supervisory Board of BMW AG announced the appointment of Dorothea von Boxberg (52) to the Board of Management, effective 1 September, where she will serve as Labour Relations Director. She currently leads Brussels Airlines and previously held senior roles at Deutsche Lufthansa AG, including CEO and CFO of Lufthansa Cargo. Her appointment follows the early departure of Ilka Horstmeier, who will step down from her position as Member of the Board of Management responsible for People and Real Estate.
Supervisory Board Chairman Dr. Nicolas Peter highlighted von Boxberg’s experience in transformation processes and her technical background as key strengths for BMW Group. He also praised Horstmeier’s contributions to the company’s human resources function and its reputation as an attractive employer in Germany. The Supervisory Board expressed gratitude to Horstmeier for her service and wished her future success.
BMW Group Chairman of the Board of Management Dr. Milan Nedeljković emphasized the need for structural adjustments to address new challenges, expressing confidence that von Boxberg would contribute effectively to these efforts. Dr. Martin Kimmich, Chairman of the BMW Group General Works Council, welcomed von Boxberg’s appointment, noting her experience in transformation processes and her alignment with BMW’s corporate culture.
