Glamsterdam on Hoodi Postponed
The Glamsterdam upgrade on the Hoodi testnet, originally set for October 26, 2026, has been postponed indefinitely to investigate interactions with mainnet smart contracts.
The Glamsterdam network upgrade on the Hoodi testnet, previously scheduled for October 26, 2026, at 17:42:48 UTC, has been officially postponed. Core developers made this decision during ACDE #248 to further examine potential interactions between EIP-8037 and mainnet smart contracts. The delay removes the previously planned Amsterdam execution layer activation and Gloas consensus layer activation, as well as the gas-limit schedule that would have raised Hoodi's gas limit to 200M at the same epoch.
The postponement does not alter Hoodi's chain history but rolls back the configuration for a future upgrade. The October 26 activation is no longer scheduled, and no replacement epoch or timestamp has been provided in the updated configuration. Operators of Hoodi nodes or validators are advised to update their execution and consensus layer clients to reflect the revised schedule before the original activation time.
Node operators and validator teams must review client release notes and instructions for the updated Hoodi configuration, as earlier announcements do not confirm the postponement. Software or custom network setups that still reference the old activation time must be adjusted to match the revised schedule. Validator operators should also review guidance for their validator client and builder infrastructure.
New client releases incorporating the postponed Hoodi activation will be listed as they are confirmed. Operators using external block-building infrastructure should follow their tooling provider's instructions. The announcement applies only to Hoodi and does not impact Ethereum mainnet users or ETH holders.
