FTC Announces 2027 Telemarketer Fees to Access the National Do Not Call Registry

The Federal Trade Commission has published updated fees for telemarketers seeking access to the National Do Not Call Registry in Fiscal Year 2027, which begins October 1, 2026. The fee for accessing a single area code will rise to $85, up from $82 in FY 2026. Entities accessing all area codes nationwide will face a maximum charge of $23,425, an increase from $22,626. The FTC’s decision was approved in a 2-0 Commission vote.
The fee for accessing an additional area code for a half year will increase to $43 in FY 2027 from $41 in FY 2026. The new rates apply to all telemarketers using the registry, including those subject to the Telemarketing Sales Rule. The FTC emphasized that the adjustments are intended to cover registry maintenance costs while balancing industry compliance burdens.
The updated fees take effect on October 1, 2026, aligning with the start of the federal fiscal year. Telemarketers must comply with the new charges when purchasing access to the registry for the upcoming period. The FTC did not provide additional commentary on the rationale behind the specific fee increases beyond cost recovery.
