Framework has reduced prices for PCIe Gen 5 SSDs in the Framework Laptop 13 Pro by switching pre-orders to the ADATA XPG MARS 970, which offers better performance and reliability at a lower cost. The 1TB version is now priced below the previous 500GB option, and all pre-orders for Gen 5 SSDs will be updated to reflect the new pricing. New pre-orders will also default to this SSD while inventory lasts. CPU pricing is expected to rise soon, which may lead to higher system prices in the coming weeks.

DDR5 memory costs have remained stable month-over-month, but storage prices have increased significantly due to depleted lower-cost inventory. Framework previously sourced WD_BLACK drives but is now transitioning to SanDisk Optimus GX and exploring additional suppliers for retail SSDs. LPDDR5x costs continue to climb, prompting a price adjustment for the 128GB Framework Desktop configuration, while 32GB and 64GB versions remain unchanged.

Storage Expansion Cards, which use NAND flash, have seen sharp cost increases, leading Framework to pause production of the 250GB model. The company is selling remaining inventory but expects to restart production only after securing alternative NAND sources. Framework Desktop pricing has been updated to reflect higher LPDDR5x costs, with the 128GB configuration seeing the largest increase. The 32GB and 64GB versions remain competitively priced compared to building a similar PC.

Framework has adjusted prices for DDR5 SO-DIMMs to $13–$18 per GB, depending on capacity, due to supplier cost increases and depleted lower-cost inventory. Pre-built systems, including Framework Laptop 16, have also seen price updates to reflect higher memory and storage costs. Intel’s i5-1334U processors are in short supply, impacting availability for some Framework Laptop 12 configurations.
