Bring digital flagging to the race vehicle with Garmin Catalyst 2 via MYLAPS X2 RaceLink Club integration
Garmin and MYLAPS integrate real-time digital flagging for race vehicles via Catalyst 2 and X2 RaceLink Club, enabling faster driver responses to track changes.
Garmin announced a new integration allowing drivers to view digital flag signals and track conditions directly from the cockpit. The system connects the Garmin Catalyst 2 optimizer with the MYLAPS X2 RaceLink Club device using an In-car Flagging Y-cable. This setup delivers real-time alerts for weather, safety checks, and recovery operations, helping drivers react more quickly during races.
The collaboration combines Garmin’s GPS and motorsports expertise with MYLAPS’ racing insights, according to Susan Lyman, Garmin’s Vice President of Consumer Sales and Marketing. The solution is designed to enhance situational awareness without requiring additional hardware beyond the integrated components. Drivers can now receive critical updates without relying solely on trackside signals.
In addition to the digital flagging system, Garmin offers accessories like a tetherable cage mount for securing the Catalyst 2 in vehicles. The company also introduced the Garmin Catalyst R1 racing radar, which uses heads-up indicator lights to alert drivers to vehicles approaching from behind, further improving on-track awareness.
The combined purchase of the MYLAPS X2 RaceLink Club with a one-year service plan, Garmin Catalyst 2, In-car Flagging Y-cable, and cage mount accessory is priced at $1,699.99. Items can also be purchased separately, though shipment timing may vary. The system is intended for recreational circuit use only and requires compatibility with the MYLAPS X2 Race Control system.
