Build and manage Connected Apps in one place
Google introduces a unified Connected Apps Platform for developers to build and manage apps across Search and the Gemini app, alongside new partner integrations.
Google is launching a Connected Apps Platform to provide developers with a centralized location for building and managing applications specifically for Search and the Gemini app. This platform aims to simplify the development process by allowing apps to be built once and deployed across both platforms. Developers can integrate using cloud-hosted MCP servers or Android MCP with AppFunctions APIs, then register, test, and submit their apps via the Google Connected Console.
The platform offers developers tools to monitor performance metrics such as traffic, latency, and error rates after their apps go live. Developers retain control over brand identity by using verified logos and authenticated accounts. Access to the platform is being rolled out in phases, with additional developers, markets, and Google products expected to be included in the coming months.
More than 50 Connected Apps are already live between Search and the Gemini app, covering areas like productivity, event ticketing, health, and fitness. Existing integrations with partners such as Adobe, Experian, Localiza, and Peloton are available in the Gemini app, with plans to expand these to Search in the coming weeks.
A new integration with Calm will be launched across both Search and the Gemini app. Users can explore all available Connected Apps by visiting the help center pages for Search and the Gemini app. Developers and users can sign up for newsletters to receive product updates, event information, and special offers.
