Google introduces new study tools for Gemini Notebook, including real-time voice conversations, lecture recording, and interactive learning aids like quizzes and flashcards, alongside a refreshed interface.
Gemini Notebook now supports real-time voice conversations with study materials through its mobile app, enabling users to discuss topics, ask questions, and receive step-by-step guidance in nearly 100 languages. Responses are grounded in the user’s uploaded notes or sources, allowing for interactive and personalized learning. The feature is designed to help users clarify complex ideas by speaking aloud rather than typing.
A new audio recorder in the mobile app lets users capture lectures or record their own thoughts directly into their notebooks. These recordings are stored alongside other study materials, enabling seamless integration with existing notes, citations, and edits. The tool is intended to support on-the-go learning and reduce the need for separate recording devices or apps.
Interactive learning overviews, available under the Reports section, allow users to generate quizzes, flashcards, and infographics to reinforce their understanding of study materials. Additional quiz formats, including short answer, multiple select, and fill-in-the-blank, will be added soon to accommodate diverse exam preparation needs. Users can also review performance data and customize their study materials.
Short Video Overviews can now be created in over 80 languages to simplify complex topics such as formulas or scientific concepts. These videos, lasting about 60 seconds, combine narrative explanations with educational animations. Users can share these videos with classmates or others, making them a collaborative study tool. The feature is accessible on both web and mobile platforms.
