The new CC, an AI agent built for families

Google Labs has introduced CC, an experimental AI agent aimed at simplifying household management for families. The agent allows up to six members to collaborate by sharing relevant information such as school emails, sports schedules, or medical updates. CC organizes this data into a shared daily brief, reducing the time families spend on logistics. The tool is accessible via the web and mobile for users aged 18 and older in the U.S. with a personal Google account.

CC operates with its own Google account, ensuring a clear permissions model that limits visibility to only the information members choose to share. It integrates with Google Calendar and Tasks to automatically add events and track deadlines. The agent can also assist with administrative tasks, like filling out forms, provided users grant permission. Existing users will receive an email to upgrade their accounts, while new users can join a waitlist.

The agent builds on Google’s earlier experiment, which began as a personal assistant in the Gemini App’s Daily Brief feature. Early testers found it useful for managing daily routines, prompting the expansion to support family coordination. CC’s development reflects user feedback highlighting the challenges of managing shared household responsibilities across multiple accounts.

Families can now invite members to CC, enabling the agent to consolidate shared context into a single brief delivered to their inboxes. This streamlines planning for activities like meal preparation, bill payments, and event registrations. The tool is designed to help households focus more on spending time together rather than coordinating logistics.
