IBM and Scuderia Ferrari HP Expand AI-Powered Fan Experience Ahead of the United States Grand Prix
IBM and Scuderia Ferrari HP unveiled AI-powered features in the team’s mobile app ahead of the United States Grand Prix, enhancing fan engagement with real-time race insights and interactive tools.
IBM and Scuderia Ferrari HP introduced new AI-driven features to the Scuderia Ferrari mobile app ahead of the United States Grand Prix in Austin. The updates include a Race Timeline that visually tracks key moments during sessions, such as pit stops or fastest laps, providing fans with an interactive overview of the action. AI agents powered by IBM watsonx generate concise recaps of Scuderia Ferrari HP’s performance across all sessions, transforming complex race data into accessible narratives within minutes of each session’s conclusion.
The app’s Game Center now features a Pitstop Reaction Game, where fans race to select the correct tire choice in simulated scenarios, competing on a global leaderboard against other Tifosi. Additional tools like quizzes and predictor leagues allow users to engage with friends, while a new Tifosi Hub invites fans to share six-word stories about the team, fostering deeper community connections beyond race weekends.
Scuderia Ferrari HP’s Chief Racing Revenue Officer, Lorenzo Giorgetti, highlighted the goal of bringing fans closer to the team and the on-track action through these innovations. The features aim to replicate the speed and pressure of critical race decisions, such as pit stops, in an interactive format for global audiences.
IBM emphasized the role of AI in helping fans understand the ‘how’ and ‘why’ behind race events, leveraging the same watsonx technology used by leading enterprises. The collaboration has streamlined app development, with IBM Bob and IBM Consulting Advantage increasing productivity by 30% in the product lifecycle.
