Confluent Introduces Its Streamhouse Architecture to Power AI With Real-Time Business Context
Confluent, an IBM company, unveiled Streamhouse architecture to provide real-time business context for AI agents and applications, addressing outdated data challenges in enterprise decision-making.
Confluent, an IBM company, introduced Streamhouse, a new data architecture designed to maintain current business context for AI agents, applications, and analytics. The announcement completes Confluent’s five-pillar Data Streaming Platform, which now includes Query capabilities via Lightning Tables on AWS. This unified platform integrates streaming, connecting, processing, governing, and querying data across hybrid environments to support real-time decision-making.
Streamhouse addresses a critical gap in traditional data lakes and warehouses, which were built for batch processing rather than real-time AI-driven actions. By continuously capturing, processing, and governing data, Streamhouse ensures agents and systems operate on the most up-to-date information, reducing risks from outdated or conflicting data. The architecture is engineered to production service levels and supports decentralized data without requiring consolidation.
Accenture adopted Streamhouse powered by Confluent to connect global operations, reducing time-to-insight from months to days and cutting reporting times. The architecture decouples data producers from consumers, transforming high-volume event streams into governed, reusable real-time data products. Confluent’s infrastructure automation and enterprise connectivity standardized development environments, eliminating custom integrations and manual data movement.
Confluent’s Data Streaming Platform, anchored by Apache Kafka, now includes Lightning Tables as a fifth pillar to enable low-latency queries on streaming data. The platform supports real-time agentic AI workflows, instant fraud detection, and adaptive merchant onboarding. Shaun Clowes, General Manager of Confluent and Data at IBM, emphasized that Streamhouse delivers live, governed views of business operations for immediate action.
