L3Harris and ARX Robotics demonstrated a mobile counter-drone system at Project Convergence-Capstone 6, integrating CORVUS-RAVEN sensors on uncrewed ground vehicles to extend threat detection without exposing personnel.
L3Harris Technologies and ARX Robotics UK conducted a demonstration during Project Convergence-Capstone 6, the U.S. Army’s technology evaluation campaign, showcasing how robotic mobility can enhance counter-drone sensing. The CORVUS-RAVEN system, mounted on ARX’s GEREON uncrewed ground vehicles, passively detects drone signals and provides bearing data to improve operator situational awareness across the battlespace. The integration allowed the sensor to be repositioned into forward or hazardous areas while operators remained at safer distances, reducing personnel exposure to potential threats.
The collaboration combined L3Harris’s CORVUS-RAVEN, a passive detection and electronic warfare capability, with ARX’s modular GEREON platform, which transports mission payloads. The system demonstrated how uncrewed ground vehicles can extend the reach of specialist capabilities without increasing risk to personnel. According to ARX Robotics UK CEO David Roberts, the integration enables passive and active electronic warfare to be deployed closer to threats while keeping operators at a safer distance.
The demonstration highlighted the flexibility of the CORVUS-RAVEN system, which operates on an open architecture and can generate TAK-compatible messages for integration with command-and-control systems. It supports shared geospatial operating pictures and includes an integrated electronic defeat capability without requiring additional external systems. The effort also showed how counter-drone sensors can be repositioned dynamically as mission requirements change, improving adaptability in dispersed operational environments.
Project Convergence-Capstone 6 reinforced the value of partnerships between established defense companies and emerging technology providers. The L3Harris-ARX demonstration illustrated how modular hardware and open architectures can reduce integration barriers, enabling faster combination of complementary technologies. Lessons from the event will inform future development and potential integration of counter-drone capabilities with robotic systems across various missions.
