Australian Defence Delivery Group Awards L3Harris C4I Contract Under LAND 4111 Protected Mobility Vehicle Technology Modernisation Program
L3Harris Technologies secured a Commonwealth contract to modernise Australian Defence Force Bushmaster vehicles with integrated C4I systems under the LAND 4111 program.
On June 10 in Melbourne, Major General Jason Blain of the Defence Delivery Group and Andrew Rushbrook of L3Harris Communications Australia signed the contract, witnessed by senior defence and industry representatives. The agreement formalises L3Harris Technologies' role in delivering an integrated Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence (C4I) solution for the LAND 4111 Protected Mobility Vehicle Technology Modernisation Program. The contract covers end-to-end delivery, from system design and integration to installation on candidate Bushmaster variants, aiming to enhance operational connectivity and mission effectiveness for the Australian Defence Force.
L3Harris will provide a complete design-through-installation C4I solution for selected Bushmaster Command and Troop variants, ensuring resilient and interoperable communications systems. The work will be executed at the company’s Indo-Pacific Regional Support Centre in Pinkenba, Queensland, over the next three years. The integrated systems are intended to support Australian warfighters in complex operational environments, aligning with the Defence Delivery Group’s modernisation objectives under LAND 4111.
Andrew Rushbrook, Managing Director of L3Harris Communications Australia, highlighted the significance of the contract, stating the company is honoured to collaborate with the Commonwealth on this critical communications modernisation capability. He emphasised that the end-to-end solution will deliver advanced, integrated communications systems to enhance operational success for Australian Defence Force personnel.
As part of the program, L3Harris Technologies introduced NETCASTER™, a next-generation software device described as the NETwork Control and Service Translation Enhanced Router. The device is designed to support the integrated C4I systems being deployed on the modernised Bushmaster vehicles, contributing to the overall mission effectiveness and interoperability of the Australian Defence Force’s protected mobility fleet.
