DMEGC, a solar panel manufacturer with six major manufacturing bases and operations in 80 countries, sought to modernize its R&D software lifecycle management to support rapid growth. The company relied on manual processes, which slowed innovation and made it difficult to scale operations efficiently. CIO Wu Zhenjian highlighted the need for integrated, automated tools to accelerate software delivery and improve cross-team collaboration.
To address these challenges, DMEGC chose Lenovo’s xIQ Cloud intelligent cloud platform and Deployment Services to build a private cloud infrastructure. The solution replaced decentralized IT systems with a unified, automated cloud-native architecture integrating Lenovo TruScale IaaS and PaaS offerings. This enabled deep collaboration among resources, platforms, and R&D processes, aligning with DMEGC’s long-term DevOps goals.
The new platform standardized the entire software lifecycle, reducing human errors and significantly improving software delivery efficiency. Developers now deploy new releases in hours instead of days, with software release cycles dropping from hours to minutes. The platform also achieved 99.99% availability for key business services, ensuring consistent uptime and operational reliability.
Lenovo xIQ Cloud provided self-monitoring, self-healing capabilities, and self-service resource provisioning, reducing management overhead. The solution enhanced information security with fine-grained access controls, built-in vulnerability management, and unified logging for end-to-end traceability. Zhang Chunxiao, Basic Operation Manager at DMEGC, noted the shift-left testing approach improved defect detection early in development, fostering greater efficiency and transparency.
