Threads Introduces Parental Supervision for Teens in APAC

Meta is expanding its parental supervision tools to Threads, enabling parents and guardians in Asia Pacific to oversee teen accounts starting this week. The feature mirrors existing controls in other Meta apps, providing visibility into Threads activity. Teen accounts on Threads already include protections such as private profiles and content restrictions, which parents can now help manage.

Parents will be able to decide whether teens under 16 can modify these protections, such as changing account privacy settings. New insights and controls will be available to guardians, allowing them to track and adjust their teen’s experience on Threads. The supervision tools aim to support parents in guiding their teen’s online interactions.

To activate supervision, parents and guardians can visit familycenter.meta.com/supervision. The setup process integrates with existing Family Center controls, ensuring a unified approach across Meta’s platforms. This initiative reflects Meta’s ongoing effort to provide consistent safety tools for families.
