Wzmacniamy w Polsce ochronę przed oszustwami
Meta announced enhanced AI-driven fraud protections in Poland, including stricter advertiser verification for financial services and expanded AI systems to combat impersonation, following a reported 83% drop in fraudulent ad reports since July 2024.
Meta reported a rise in fraudulent activity across online platforms, including social media, dating apps, and cryptocurrency services, prompting the company to strengthen its detection systems. The announcement highlights ongoing efforts to combat evolving scam tactics using advanced AI and partnerships, while addressing recent criticism of its fraud prevention approach. The company emphasized that fraud undermines user trust and its advertising-dependent business model.
To address these challenges, Meta introduced an upgraded AI system in Poland designed to reduce impersonation cases, placing the country among the first in Europe to adopt this technology. The system builds on existing AI tools that have already reduced user reports of celebrity impersonation by over 80%. Additionally, Meta will require all financial services advertisers targeting Polish users to verify their identities, a process set for completion in the coming weeks.
The new measures are part of Meta’s broader strategy to increase the share of ad revenue from verified advertisers globally, aiming for 90% by 2026, up from 70% in 2025. The company cited a significant decline in fraudulent ad reports in Poland, with an 83% reduction from July 2024 to June 2026, and the removal of 137,000 fraudulent ads between July 2025 and June 2026, 88% of which were proactively detected.
Meta acknowledged public scrutiny of its fraud prevention efforts but defended its approach, stating that recent criticism misrepresented its actions. The company outlined multiple initiatives, including automated protection systems, collaboration with public institutions and private partners, and educational tools to help users recognize scams. Meta reiterated its commitment to combating fraud, emphasizing that its efforts are yielding measurable results and will continue to evolve in response to emerging threats.
