The offering extends the Intelligence + Trust vision to public sector organizations, combining familiar Microsoft 365 capabilities with advanced AI features designed for mission-critical work. Agencies can begin licensing and planning for G7 on October 1, with additional features rolling out in phases as they meet required authorization milestones.
G7 integrates Microsoft Copilot and AI-powered experiences directly into applications government employees use daily, such as research, analysis, and content creation. Work IQ grounds these AI tools in organizational data and context, ensuring Copilot assistance aligns with agency permissions and mission needs. At launch, G7 includes Copilot for research, knowledge synthesis, and collaboration, with further enhancements planned for US Government clouds in the months following general availability.
The suite provides a foundation for mission-focused agents to support specialized government tasks, including research, policy analysis, and constituent service. Agencies can deploy Microsoft’s pre-built agents like Researcher and Analyst or use Agent Builder to create custom experiences. Microsoft Copilot Studio enables deeper customization, while managed connectors securely integrate agency data and line-of-business applications into agent workflows.
Agent 365 serves as the governance control plane for managing AI agents within G7, allowing organizations to discover, register, and govern agents across security, risk, and lifecycle management. At general availability, it provides core controls for deployment and usage, with plans to expand capabilities over time. The offering emphasizes responsible AI adoption, combining intelligence with governance to support public sector missions while maintaining stringent security and compliance standards.
