Wrexham AFC and Firefox announce a multi-year, front-of-kit partnership

Firefox, the independent browser developed by Mozilla, has announced a multi-year sponsorship deal with Wrexham AFC, becoming the club’s front-of-kit partner for both men’s and women’s teams beginning in the 2026/27 season. The agreement represents Firefox’s first such partnership and aligns with Mozilla’s nonprofit mission to prioritize user choice over commercial interests. The collaboration will debut on Wrexham’s new away kit during their pre-season match against Cracovia in Kraków this weekend.

Wrexham AFC, rescued from near-collapse by its community in 2011, has since risen through three consecutive promotions to compete in the EFL Championship. The club, owned by Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds, emphasizes grassroots engagement and long-term growth, including plans to return to the Premier League and modernize its stadium. Firefox’s involvement reflects shared values of community-driven success and independence in their respective fields.

Mozilla CMO John Solomon highlighted the partnership as a meeting of two organizations that built global followings by challenging conventions. Solomon stated that both Firefox and Wrexham prioritize people over profit, with Firefox advocating for an internet centered on user needs rather than corporate control. The collaboration will extend beyond kit sponsorship to include content, product integrations, and fan engagement initiatives throughout the season.

Wrexham AFC, founded in 1864, is the oldest club in Wales and the third oldest professional team globally. The club has won the Welsh Cup a record 23 times and has competed against top-tier English clubs in domestic and European competitions. Firefox, Mozilla’s independent browser, is known for its privacy-focused features, open-source development, and resistance to default browser settings imposed by major tech companies.
