Nissan production, sales, and exports for June and first half of 2026

Nissan’s June 2026 global production reached 285,000 units, a 3.2% decline from June 2025, driven by reduced output in Japan and Thailand. Exports totaled 198,000 vehicles, down 4.1% year-on-year, with North America and Europe as primary destinations. Sales in Japan fell 2.8% to 52,000 units, while overseas markets saw a 5.3% drop to 233,000 vehicles. The company attributed the declines to supply chain adjustments and market softness in key regions.

For the first half of 2026, Nissan produced 1.68 million vehicles, a 1.9% decrease compared to the same period in 2025. Exports during this period totaled 1.12 million units, a 2.7% reduction, with the Middle East and Latin America showing the steepest declines. Domestic sales in Japan reached 312,000 units, down 1.5%, while international sales totaled 1.37 million vehicles, a 2.2% drop. The company noted ongoing efforts to stabilize production amid fluctuating demand.

Sales performance varied by region, with North America recording a 1.8% increase to 412,000 units, supported by strong demand for the Rogue and Sentra models. Europe saw a 3.5% decline to 389,000 units, reflecting weaker consumer confidence in major markets. In Asia, excluding Japan, sales fell 4.2% to 321,000 units, with India’s figures now limited to Nissan-built models following the RNAIPL share sale, totaling 45,000 units.

Exports to Africa, South America, and Oceania combined reached 195,000 units in the first half of 2026, a 6.8% decrease from the prior year. Nissan highlighted that the RNAIPL divestment has streamlined its reporting structure, with India’s production now solely reflecting Nissan’s operations. The company reiterated its focus on adjusting output to match demand while maintaining supply chain resilience across global markets.
