Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. introduced the Nissan LEAF NISMO in Japan, expanding its NISMO road car lineup based on the third-generation LEAF launched in January 2026. The new model integrates NISMO’s performance tuning, including exclusive suspension components, Michelin Pilot Sport 5 tires, and 19-inch Enkei wheels to enhance handling and stability. The vehicle retains the LEAF’s electric drivetrain while optimizing it for sharper responsiveness and driver engagement. Pricing for the LEAF NISMO starts at ¥4,490,000 in Japan, positioning it as a premium variant within the LEAF range.
The LEAF NISMO features NISMO-exclusive tuning across its chassis, including springs, stabilizers, and shock absorbers with swing valves to reduce body roll and improve ride quality. Four drive modes—Standard, ECO, Sport, and Personal—are available, with Sport mode renamed 'NISMO Mode' for enhanced linear acceleration. Regenerative braking control paddles offer four levels of deceleration tuning, tailored to deliver a more dynamic driving experience compared to the base LEAF. These adjustments aim to bridge the gap between performance and everyday usability.
Exterior design elements emphasize aerodynamics and performance, with a front bumper featuring air-guide corner finishers, a boat-hull-shaped under spoiler, and an extended ducktail rear spoiler to reduce drag and increase downforce. The model introduces 'Arterial Magma' red accents and two exclusive NISMO Stealth Gray color options, alongside gloss-black door mirrors with red accents. These visual enhancements reflect NISMO’s minimalist yet performance-oriented design philosophy, distinguishing the LEAF NISMO from the standard model.
Inside, the cabin adopts a black interior with red accents, including a power meter, instrument panel finishers, and a TailorFit steering wheel with red stitching and a center marker. NISMO-exclusive RECARO sport seats feature red perforations, embroidered logos, and power reclining functionality for comfort and connection. The design prioritizes driver focus and excitement, aligning with NISMO’s craftsmanship standards.
