The useful question is what changes for users, developers or buyers, and whether the announcement stays industry context or becomes something people can actually use.
Notion announced on July 9, 2026, a new capability for teams to share Workers, which are serverless functions used to build Custom Agents. This feature allows a single teammate to create a Worker, such as a Salesforce Worker, and share it with others in the team. The sharing options include 'Can connect,' which lets teammates use the Worker, and 'Full access,' which permits them to modify or adapt it for new use cases.
The update is designed to foster collaboration by enabling multiple team members to contribute to or leverage a single Worker. For example, a sales team could use a shared Worker to power agents across both sales and marketing departments. This reduces duplication of effort and ensures consistency in how agents interact with data sources.
To access the new sharing feature, users can navigate to the Developer Portal through Settings → Connections → Go to developer portal, or directly visit app.notion.com/developers. The feature is now available to all users with access to the Developer Portal, streamlining the process of building and iterating on Workers within a team environment.
The introduction of shared Workers aligns with Notion’s broader strategy to enhance its platform’s extensibility and collaborative capabilities. By allowing teams to build and share Workers, Notion aims to provide greater flexibility and efficiency in deploying Custom Agents across various business functions.
