OpenAI expands partnership with Oracle to bring its apps to ChatGPT
OpenAI and Oracle deepen collaboration to integrate Oracle applications and data into ChatGPT and develop new AI-powered Oracle products, aiming to streamline business operations and security.
OpenAI and Oracle announced an expanded partnership to embed Oracle applications and data directly into ChatGPT, enabling users to access and manage core business functions through natural language prompts. The collaboration also introduces new Oracle products powered by OpenAI models, including Oracle AI Workspace, designed to simplify workflows by unifying information from finance, procurement, and planning applications within ChatGPT. Oracle reported over 130,000 active ChatGPT users and more than 95,000 active Codex users, highlighting existing adoption of AI tools in business processes.
Oracle AI Workspace aims to let employees describe tasks in plain language and complete approved workflows without switching between applications, such as investigating costs or preparing for month-end close. The integration ensures access is governed by each organization’s permissions and approvals, maintaining security and compliance across Oracle’s software ecosystem. Oracle also introduced Oracle AI Security Mesh, which uses OpenAI cyber models to help customers identify and address vulnerabilities in applications and infrastructure.
Oracle AI SMB Bundle combines ChatGPT Business, Codex, and Oracle applications with recurring Oracle Cloud Infrastructure credits, targeting small businesses to build products and manage operations. Oracle App Composer allows teams to develop custom applications using Codex and AI tools, connect them to approved Oracle data, and deploy them securely on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure with built-in access controls. The new offerings are designed to help businesses scale AI adoption across core operations while leveraging existing Oracle software investments.
Access to the OpenAI API, Codex, and ChatGPT Work through Oracle Marketplace is available to Oracle customers in the U.S., using existing procurement processes and Oracle Universal Credits. The partnership emphasizes a unified, agent-ready enterprise environment where people and AI agents collaborate across business applications, reducing administrative complexity and improving efficiency.
