On Teachers’ Day, OpenAI highlighted the role of educators in shaping learning through thoughtful questioning. The company emphasized that teachers adapt their methods to student needs, introducing ideas and guiding understanding from initial attempts to mastery. A new campaign humorously explores the evolving dynamic between teachers and students in an AI-influenced world.

Today, OpenAI launched the AI for Educators course in Brazilian Portuguese on its free OpenAI Academy platform. The course is designed for educators across primary, secondary, and higher education and demonstrates how AI can assist in lesson planning, activity creation, assessment design, and communication while maintaining pedagogical control.

Study Mode, developed with teachers and pedagogy experts, encourages active learning by guiding students through subjects with questions, hints, and explanations. Users can enable Study Mode in ChatGPT by selecting it from the tools menu, allowing for step-by-step exploration of topics.

Teachers can test Study Mode by reviewing its questions and explanations for their subjects. For example, a biology student studying enzymes can use Study Mode to receive one question at a time, respond, and receive targeted feedback on areas needing review before class discussion.
