Instead of a television return, author Lee Child and his brother Andrew are releasing a new novel titled Chain Reaction on October 20, 2026, offering an immediate continuation of the character’s adventures. The book arrives as season 4 of the Prime Video series nears its conclusion, providing a fresh narrative thread before the show resumes production. This release strategy ensures a steady stream of Reacher content across both mediums.

Chain Reaction marks the 31st installment in the Jack Reacher series and follows the 2025 novel Exit Strategy. The story centers on General Susan Turner seeking Reacher’s help in Washington, D.C., where a dangerous conspiracy unfolds. Like previous entries, the novel delivers a fast-paced thriller with Reacher stumbling into trouble and methodically dismantling it.
