Prime Video's Reacher Is Officially Returning This Month After a Stellar Season 4
Prime Video’s *Reacher* will return for season five while a new novel, *Chain Reaction*, arrives in October 2026, bridging the gap between TV seasons with fresh source material.
The Prime Video series *Reacher* has been renewed for a fifth season, ensuring Alan Ritchson’s portrayal of the character remains in active production. The announcement follows the conclusion of season four and the premiere of the spin-off series *Neagley*, maintaining momentum for the franchise. Fans can expect the show to continue adapting Lee Child’s novels, with season five based on the 20th book, *Make Me*.
Lee Child and Andrew Child are releasing *Chain Reaction*, the 31st novel in the Jack Reacher series, on October 20, 2026. The book follows General Susan Turner seeking Reacher’s help in Washington, D.C., setting up another conspiracy-driven thriller. Pre-orders are available on Amazon, marking the latest collaboration between the brothers, who have co-written multiple entries in the series.
The new novel arrives as the Prime Video adaptation of *Reacher* nears its fifth season, with production already underway. The series has drawn from Child’s books since its debut, translating the character’s procedural action style to television. *Chain Reaction* is designed to stand alone, allowing new readers to start with the latest release without prior knowledge of the series.
The October 2026 release of *Chain Reaction* aligns with the show’s production schedule, ensuring a steady stream of content for fans. The novel’s plot mirrors the familiar Reacher formula, featuring a wandering ex-military cop stumbling into danger and methodically dismantling conspiracies. The brothers’ ongoing partnership continues to expand the franchise’s literary and screen presence.
