Samsung has added a dedicated Warranty and care menu to its Galaxy Z foldables, including the Z Fold8 Ultra, Z Fold8, and Z Flip8, as part of the One UI 9 update. The feature consolidates warranty status, coverage details, and Samsung Care+ enrollment options into a single interface within Settings, eliminating the need to navigate multiple screens or services. Users can view remaining warranty periods for all linked Galaxy devices under their Samsung account, streamlining oversight of their ecosystem’s protection status.
The Diagnostics tool within Warranty and care performs automated checks on battery health, charging functionality, sensors, touch responsiveness, and connectivity to identify potential issues. If a problem is detected, the system suggests solutions or escalates the request to a repair booking. Bixby integration allows users to describe issues in natural language, such as battery drain, and receive step-by-step guidance without leaving the menu, reducing the need for external searches or calls.
For repairs, the menu enables direct booking at Samsung-authorized service centers through a ‘Request a repair’ option. All repairs are handled by certified technicians using genuine parts, with the added flexibility of initiating remote support if visiting a center is not possible. Estimated repair costs for major components are displayed alongside Samsung Care+ pricing, allowing users to compare expenses and evaluate the value of extended coverage before committing.
By unifying warranty management, diagnostics, repair services, and support into one accessible location, Samsung aims to simplify device maintenance for Galaxy users. The feature is designed to help users address issues promptly, preserve device condition, and make informed decisions about additional protection plans, ultimately reducing downtime and repair-related inconvenience.
