SKT, 순천향대와 ‘AI 그림일기’로 교육 현장 AX 이끌고 미래 인재 육성 나선다

SK Telecom and Soonchunhyang University announced on the 3rd that they will apply the internally developed AI Edutech solution 'AI 그림일기' to the '2026 Digital Newbie' program, an AI and software education initiative led by the Ministry of Education and operated by the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science & Creativity. Soonchunhyang University, selected as the lead institution for two consecutive years, is collaborating with SK Telecom, which joined as a participating organization this year. The program targets 4,200 elementary, middle, and high school students in Gangwon and Chungcheong provinces, offering AI and software education courses.

The 'AI 그림일기' solution is designed to enhance literacy and expression skills for elementary school students and those in special education. Students input their daily experiences or thoughts, and the generative AI analyzes the text to create a four-panel story with corresponding images and voice narration. Learners can modify the AI-generated content, such as titles, descriptions, and dialogue, or regenerate images, fostering skills in structuring narratives and expressing ideas through writing.

Starting in the second semester, a dedicated program titled 'Reading and Writing with AI' will be offered for students in special education, utilizing 'AI 그림일기'. SK Telecom aims to expand the solution’s role beyond a generative AI tool, integrating it into classroom operations, student creation, and result sharing to enhance educational experiences. The collaboration seeks to bridge AI education gaps by increasing opportunities for underprivileged students and addressing regional disparities in educational conditions.

Kim Gu-young, Head of SK Telecom’s Enterprise Business Division, stated that 'AI 그림일기' supports students in expanding their thoughts through writing, images, and voice, while enabling teachers to incorporate these processes into lessons. He emphasized the company’s commitment to expanding 'warm AI'-based edutech collaborations to ensure AI technology supports the learning and growth of more students, regardless of regional or educational disparities.
