The Z Fold8 Ultra emphasizes large displays and camera performance, the Z Fold8 offers a new aspect ratio and lighter weight, while the Z Flip8 focuses on portability and cover display usability. The reviewer noted that while all three belong to the foldable lineup, their personalities differ significantly. The Z Fold8 stood out with its shorter vertical and wider horizontal aspect ratio, described as cute and distinctive. The Z Fold8 Ultra refined the existing foldable design with improved build quality, while the Z Flip8 retained its fashion-forward appeal despite minor external changes. The Z Fold8’s new ratio notably enhanced content consumption and typing, making it ideal for media and reading.

Camera performance varied across models. The Z Fold8 Ultra featured the strongest setup with a 200MP main, 50MP ultrawide, and 3x optical zoom telephoto lens, excelling in high-resolution and zoom photography. The Z Fold8 lacked a telephoto lens but delivered satisfactory image quality, particularly when reviewing photos on its 4:3 display. Battery life and charging improved in the Z Fold8 Ultra with a 5,000mAh battery and 45W wired or 20W wireless charging, while the Z Fold8 offered a 4,800mAh battery in a lighter 201g body. The Z Flip8 maintained a 4,300mAh battery but saw no significant gains in endurance. All models handled daily tasks smoothly, though high-load activities like gaming or extended camera use generated noticeable heat.
