SK Telecom announced on May 24 a new graduate-level AI collaboration course with Seoul National University’s Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, set to begin September 1, 2025. The 15-week program, titled ‘SKT-SNU AI Joint Course,’ targets SNU graduate students and will cover AI applications, modeling, and infrastructure. The curriculum is designed to align with SKT’s full-stack AI capabilities and share commercialization cases from the company’s research. The initiative aims to cultivate next-generation AI talent directly aligned with industry needs.

The inaugural lecture on September 1 will be delivered by SKT CEO Jeong Jae-heon, who will discuss the transformative impact of AI on industries and society, as well as SKT’s vision for AI’s future. Subsequent sessions will feature relay-style presentations by SKT AI executives and senior developers, including Yu Gyeong-sang, head of SKT’s AI CIC, and Kim Tae-yun, responsible for foundation models. The lectures will focus on practical insights drawn from real-world AI development experience.

This marks the tenth consecutive year of SKT’s AI education partnership with Seoul National University. The joint course has previously received high evaluation scores from students for its balance of theoretical and practical learning. Over the past decade, SKT has collaborated with leading domestic universities to offer AI programs and research initiatives, contributing to the cultivation of skilled AI professionals in South Korea.

SKT emphasized the strategic importance of nurturing AI talent amid rapid industry transformation, stating that developing such expertise is critical to the company’s sustainable growth. The company expressed confidence that the current course, which leverages industry practitioners’ knowledge, will provide valuable resources for aspiring AI leaders.
