PV Hardware expands Houston factory for increased solar tracker production
PV Hardware USA expands its Houston factory by 34,200 sq ft to boost domestic solar tracker production by 42%, aiming to reduce field complexity through pre-assembly and meet rising demand.
PV Hardware USA (PVH) is expanding its Houston manufacturing facility by adding approximately 34,200 square feet, increasing the site’s total capacity by 42%. The original 50,000 sq ft facility opened in 2024. The expansion supports PVH’s strategy to shift more solar installation work into controlled factory environments, reducing on-site complexity for customers. CEO Alfonso Queipo emphasized the move is driven by customer demand for greater efficiency and quality control.
The expansion enables PVH to pre-assemble solar trackers and foundations, reportedly reducing components by 70% at project sites. Rodolfo Bitar, VP of business development, highlighted how this approach addresses labor shortages, tight deadlines, and cost pressures faced by solar EPCs. By managing assembly of 188 loose parts per row in a factory, PVH aims to make installations more predictable and streamlined.
The Houston expansion aligns with PVH’s global sustainability goals by increasing domestic production and shortening supply chains. Localizing more manufacturing in Texas reduces carbon emissions from international shipping and long-haul logistics. The shift also minimizes on-site material waste and reliance on heavy machinery during installation.
PVH’s solar trackers are over 98% steel by weight, making them fully recyclable at end of life. The expansion reinforces PVH’s commitment to domestic content and operational efficiency, supporting customers in managing project timelines and costs more effectively.
