Spotify führt eine neue Kennzeichnung für KI-generierte Künstler*innen-Identitäten ein — Spotify
Spotify will introduce an AI Persona Badge starting in mid-September to label profiles that represent AI-generated identities, responding to listener demand for transparency about artist authenticity.
Spotify announced it will display an AI Persona Badge on selected artist profiles beginning in mid-September, indicating whether the identity behind the profile is AI-generated rather than a real person. The badge will appear on profiles, in search results, and within playlists, providing clear visual cues for listeners. Users can tap the badge to learn whether the artist self-disclosed the AI status or if Spotify identified it through its own review process. The company stated that AI Personas will not be included in editorial or personalized recommendations by default, appearing only if users actively follow the profile.
Artists can now self-report their AI Persona status through Spotify for Artists, though Spotify will independently verify profiles that appear to use photorealistic AI-generated imagery or names. The verification process will initially focus on profiles meeting certain reach thresholds to ensure broad coverage of frequently visited pages. Artists flagged by Spotify’s review will be notified and given the option to confirm their status or dispute the assessment. In the coming months, listeners will also have the ability to report suspected AI Personas, with further details to be shared later.
The AI Persona Badge addresses concerns about authenticity in an era of generative AI, where listeners have expressed a need to distinguish between real artists and AI-generated personas. Spotify emphasized that the badge pertains solely to the public identity of the artist, not the creation process of the music itself. For transparency about how tracks are produced, Spotify already offers tools like KI-Songinfos and SongDNA, which many artists have adopted voluntarily. The company hopes for similar engagement with the new AI Persona disclosure system to maintain trust in its platform.
This initiative is part of Spotify’s broader effort to enhance transparency and trustworthiness on its platform, with additional features planned for 2026 to provide more clarity about content origins. The company is also refining its algorithms to prioritize authentic human artists in recommendations while filtering out spam and low-quality content. Spotify acknowledged that the music ecosystem is evolving and pledged to adapt its approach based on feedback from artists, listeners, and industry partners.
